There is an area in the Atlantic that forecasters and forecaster-wannabes are watching. Can you find it?
Here’s the center this morning and some forecast tracks:
Some of the models are spinning it up into a hurricane. I’ve seen some chatter about it hitting New Orleans – that’s insane. It could also hit Florida, or Georgia, or be the next Sandy and wipe out the Northeast. All useless speculation at this point. NHC gives it a “medium” chance of becoming a storm in the next couple of days. The advanced HWRF model does spin it up into a weak hurricane before landfall on Hispaniola. We’ll know better if and when it organizes.
